Cameron Hull

Cameron Hull is an urban planner committed to making cities more climate-resilient, restoring local ecologies, and repairing human relationships with the environment. She graduated with a Master in Urban Planning from Harvard Graduate School of Design with a concentration in environment, climate, and health. At the GSD she served as co-chair of the Harvard Urban Planning Organization and pursued coursework in cultural preservation, transportation finance, infrastructure theory, water and land restoration, and spatial analysis.

She previously served as a policy advisor to a member of Congress in Washington, D.C., where she focused on disaster recovery and climate resilience, multimodal transportation and safe streets, gun violence reduction, and civil rights. In this role, she was proud to help secure more than $1 billion for local infrastructure and transportation projects. Her foray into policy and public service began with working on political campaigns in her hometown of Houston, Texas.

Cameron holds a Bachelor of Arts in government from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She is the recipient of the GSD’s American Planning Association Outstanding Student Award.

Initial Fellowship Focus: The fellow will develop an implementation plan for the next phase of riverfront projects and programming, align funding strategies, established performance metrics, and set key initial steps in motion to realize Cedar Rapids’ long-term vision for a vibrant, year-round riverfront.
