About

Atiyab Sultan holds a Master in Philosophy and a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge, and a Master in Public Administration in International Development from Harvard Kennedy School. She is the author of “A Broken Record: Institutions, Community and Development in Pakistan” (Cambridge University Press, 2022), as well as articles in leading journals including Modern Asian Studies. Her current research focuses on decision-making in the public sector, training interventions, and local and regional strategies of development.

She has also published several public-facing works of scholarship, including the co-edited “Gazetteer of the Lahore District” (2022) and a co-authored biography, “Endgame of Empire: Sultan Khan, Asia’s First Grandmaster” (Fordham University Press, 2026).
